IN LOVING MEMORY OF
May Evelyn
Myers
March 6, 1930 – May 16, 2020
May Evelyn Johnson Myers was Popeye to her Grandfather; Evelyn, Mom, Nanny Evelyn, and Aunt Evelyn to her biological family; Ms. Evelyn to her Shiloh Church and community families; and May-May to her Alcoa Pines Family. May Evelyn was an independent person who was thankful and made the most of what little she had without complaining. Her methods of solving problems were unique and creative. She accomplished the most challenging tasks with common and easily accessible tools. Above all, she lived by her own rules. She had uncommon strength of faith, love, sheer will, and determination. On May 16, 2020, she decided to leave this life and return to God.

She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan. She enjoyed fishing, embroidering and going to the Grant County Senior Citizens Center. She considered the people of the Shiloh Community her extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Lee "Luke" Myers; brothers, James Johnson and his wife, Marie, and Donnie Johnson.

Fly, fly little wing Fly beyond imagining The softest cloud, the whitest dove Upon the wing of heaven's love Past the planets and the stars Leave this lonely world of ours Escape the sorrow and the pain And fly again Fly, fly precious one Your endless journey has begun Take your gentle happiness Far too beautiful for this Cross over to the other shore There is peace for evermore But hold this memory bittersweet Until we meet Fly, fly do not fear Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear Your heart is pure, your soul is free Be on your way, don't wait for me Above the universe you'll climb On beyond the hands of time The moon will rise, the sun will set But I won't forget Fly, fly little wing Fly where only angels sing Fly away the time is right Go now, find the light.
