Melanie Cassandra House, originally of Benton, Arkansas, was born on December 7, 1977, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to William Nick House and Linda Kay Hainey House.

Melanie was a kind and gentle soul whose presence brought light to every room. Her quiet smile spoke volumes, and her loving spirit reminded everyone around her of the beauty found in simplicity and unconditional love. Her spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her. May she now find peace and joy in her heavenly home, whole and free, and may we honor her by carrying forward her legacy of kindness, grace, and love.

Melanie passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 47, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her father, William House, and her infant brother, William Nathan House. She is survived by her mother, Linda Kay House; sisters Gina Lynn House and Leslie (Richard) Sullivant; nephew Chance (Paige) Sullivant; and niece Karis (Lance) Austin.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Friends and extended family may contact the family for details.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Easterseals Arkansas or the Civitan Center in Benton.

The family wishes to express special gratitude to the Special Education Department of the Benton School District, whose compassion and support throughout Melanie's entire educational experience made a lasting difference in her life and the lives of those who loved her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
