Melba Lee Strahan Huntley of Hot Springs, Arkansas was born June 15, 1919 in Nashville, Arkansas, the daughter of the late George Lester and Beulah Addis Maroney Strahan. She died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas at age 85. She was a member and Elder of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Pine Bluff and had retired from the Watson Chapel School System as a cafeteria worker. She was a graduate of Rison High School. On May 21, 1938 she married Walter Marion Huntley, who preceded her in death on October 9,1977. She was also preceded in death by a son, Walter Lee "Sonny" Huntley and a brother, Tommy Strahan.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Allene Smith and husband Buddy Smith of Hot Springs,
Sisters: Nadine Murphree of Conroe Texas, Aleene Terry of Pine Bluff, Frances Johnson of Pine Bluff, Betty Atwood of Forrest City and Patsy Johnson of Pine Bluff.
2 Grandchildren: Angela Pike of Hot Springs and Brandon Smith of Ft.Worth, Texas.

Funeral Services will be Friday, August 6, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at First Cumberland Presbyterian
Church in Pine Bluff with Reverend Tim Carpenter, Reverend Jason Holcomb, Reverend Brandon Smith and Reverend John Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Pine Bluff. Visitation will be Thursday 5-8 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
Pallbearers: Robert Rodgers, Mac Meurer, David Nash, Tommy Cotnam, Gary Clarkson, John Loyd. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Greg Whorton and Dr. P.K. Reddy and the St. Joseph's Hospital 5 West Nurses. Memorials may be made to Fairdale Baptist Church Building Fund, 111 Euclid Street, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901.
