Michael Leigh Bennett, 61 of Sheridan Arkansas passed away on August 26, 2026 at his home while surrounded by the ones he loved.

Michael “Mike” was born on November 30, 1964, at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to William E Bennett, Jr. and Marjorie Stisher Bennett.

Mike attended Pickens Academy in Carrollton, Alabama, through his ninth-grade year. He carried those friendships with him throughout the years, even after his family relocated to Bryant, Arkansas. He entered the 10th grade at Bryant High School, where he graduated in 1983. After graduation, Mike attended the University of Arkansas.

Mike enjoyed his work and was a long-term employee with Complete Computing for several decades. He was a friend to all and valued the time he spent with the company and his co-workers he thought of as friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sheridan.

From his years growing up in a small town in Alabama to living his adult years in Arkansas his love of hunting was always present. He was known for the love of hunting with his dogs and being an avid woodsman. There are many stories of growing up with friends in the depths of the Alabama woods to the memories he made hunting with Lynley and grandchildren Easton and Ryleigh and lots of close friends. Mike always loved his “people” whether it was family or friends, he always extended a welcoming hand and enjoyed time spent together.

Mike was a pillar of strength to all that knew him. He was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife Libby of 24 years. Later in their marriage, he was Libby’s caregiver and source of love and support, especially after her stroke in December, 2022. He continued that care and love until the moment of his last breath was taken beside her.
