Obituary

Albert Michael "Mike" Stephens of Prattsville, Arkansas was born October 23, 1939 in Prattsville, the son of the late Albert and Helen Halbert Stephens. He was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville.

Mike died at his home on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the age of 77.

Mike was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed training and showing horses and raising cattle. He was also a member of the Lockhart Social Club.

In addition to being a rancher, his greatest joy in life was being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to watch them play in the yard at his house.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Michael Hebert.

Survivors: wife, Katherine Titsworth Stephens of Prattsville; daughters, Laurel Hebert and husband Patrick of Benton, LA, Leslie Kervin and husband Bo of Prattsville, Lee Bailey and husband David of Prattsville; step-children, Jason and Rachel Simpson of Redwood City, CA, Bryan and Natalie Simpson of Batesville; grandchildren, John Hebert, David Lee Bailey, Dylan Hebert, Paige Kervin, Cruz Hebert and Madison Bailey; step grandchildren, Sophia, Asher, Brylie, Kace and Addie Jo Simpson; great grandchildren, Justice, Tyler, Logan and Kolby as well as numerous cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 11, 2017 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Shawn Hill and Poodle Bennings officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. There will be no visitation, per his request.

Pallbearers are Craig Campbell, Craig Campbell, Jr., Witt Stephens, Witty Stephens, Warren Stephens, Steve Stephens, Troy Baker and John Baker. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Benning, Luz Maria Benning, Jerry Humphries, Jerry Matthews, Dan Halbert, Johnny Hopkins, Gayle Allen, Phil Threet, Eddie Sligh, Bill Clark and Bess Campbell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sheridan Riding Club, 189 Grant 3529, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
