IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mike
Wilson
December 11, 1951 – August 12, 2021
Billy Michael "Mike" Wilson of Grapevine, Arkansas was born December 11, 1951 at Pine Bluff, Arkansas the son of Marie Easley Wilson and the late Billy Wilson. Mike was a devoted member, and Trustee, at Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church. He loved his Church, and did anything around there that needed doing, all without wanting credit or fanfare. On Sunday's he was the first person you'd see as you walked in the door, always with a hug or a handshake, and for sure a piece of candy. He served in the Arkansas Army National Guard, and was retired from the Cotton Belt, later Union Pacific Railroad, where he was known as "Hillbilly" due to his heavy southern accent. He was happiest when he was home, working on his farm. Whether it was his horses, his mule, or any other task, he didn't care, just so long as he could be there. If Mike liked you, you'd know it, because he'd pick at you. He had a great sense of humor and sarcasm, and was often just a big kid himself. That came in handy since in his eyes, his grandkids and great grandkids did no wrong. His family said he had a huge collection of Sonic cups. He'd wash the Styrofoam cups and stack them up, in case they ever needed them. Mostly though, so he could send the grandkids home with homemade milkshakes. His loving wife and his big family was what brought him the most joy.
Mr. Wilson died Thursday, August 12, 2021 at his home, at the age of 69. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Wayne and Barbara VanNada.
