Nancy Sue Caldwell, 82, of Sheridan, AR died Wednesday, September 27th, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born June 16th, 1941 in Conway, AR to Wallace Linn and Mary Brittain. She graduated from Conway High School in 1959 and began school at Arkansas State Teachers College to become a teacher. She completed her bachelor's degree in 1964 and went on to Fort Hays State University in Kansas to receive a Master of Science in Education in 1971. She was a K-6 teacher for 28 years before retiring in 1996. During her career in the Sheridan School District, she met the love of her life, Ben Caldwell. They wed in August of 1983 and enjoyed 33 years of marriage. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan, AR. She was an avid reader and a lifetime learner. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and watching murder-mystery shows with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Curry of Sheridan, AR, Julie McGinness of Little Rock, AR, stepchildren, Suzanne Fose of Greenwood, ME, Frank Caldwell of Bush, LA, grandchildren Carly (Jacob) Wilson of Sheridan, Joelle (Ethan) Curry of Sheridan, Ben Caldwell, and Christopher Wood both of Sun, LA, Christopher Fose of Los Angeles.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben Caldwell, and her sister Linda Bridgman.
She will especially be remembered for her fun-loving character and sweet and spunky attitude that served to brighten the day of anyone she met. Her light and love will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 6, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Bro. Sam Adkins officiating. Visitation is from 2:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
