Obituary

Neal Melton Magee of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 21, 1934 in Garner, the son of the late Robbie James and Beatrice Johnston Magee. He had served in the United States Army and was a retired Party Chief for the Arkansas Highway Department after 39 years of service. He was a member of Garner Methodist Church and the Davis Hunting Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and growing yellow roses.

Mr. Magee died Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his home at the age of 89.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant children, Pamela Sue Magee and Robert Glen Magee and his brother, Glenn Magee.

Survivors: wife and best friend of 68 years, Mary Rainwater Magee of Sheridan; sister, Maxine Haney of Cabot and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Michael Walton officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. January 11, 2024 at Gum Springs Cemetery in Searcy. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until service time also at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are John Rainwater, Brant Steele, Josh Easterly, Chad Gatlin, Jamey Thompson and Darrell Gray.
