Nell
Epperson
September 24, 1943 – February 27, 2026
Charlotte Nell Brett Epperson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 24, 1943, at Kosciusko, Mississippi, the daughter of the late William Earl and Johnnie McCrory Brett. She was a very active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan for 48 years. The first 25 years her husband, Bro. Harold Epperson was the Pastor and she remained faithful after his death in 2002. If you didn’t know Nell as “the preacher’s wife” or “Brett and Stacey’s mom”, then you probably knew her as being the real estate lady in Sheridan/Grant County. For many years, up until her recent retirement, she helped untold numbers of people buy and sell real estate as an agent for Action Realty in Sheridan. She had a laugh that was unmistakable and with her “never met a stranger” personality, she enjoyed investing her time and resources into the lives of others. She was definitely a hugger, and her priority was always lifting up someone else and not herself.
Mrs. Epperson died Friday, February 27, 2026 at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family, at the age of 82. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Red” Epperson. They were married February 8, 1964 and he died January 2, 2003.
The greatest joy of her life was her family. She adored them all and was so proud of each of them. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Heather Epperson of Queen City, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Cito Dickson of Royal, Arkansas; honorary daughter, Leann Edom of Sheridan; grandchildren: Brady (Keri) Epperson, Garrett (Makayla) Epperson, Lane Dickson, Abby (Cody) Pickett. Great grandchildren: Liam Brett, Beckett Cade, Ember, Lyndi, Jett, Sadie, Rubeigh. She is also survived by her IBC Church family and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan, with Bro. Gary Copeland and Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation is also Wednesday, from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
Memorials may be made to Immanual Baptist Church in Sheridan.
Throughout her life, no matter what the situation or circumstance, Nell’s Faith and Love for her God remained unshakeable. One of her favorite scriptures, that was dear to her heart, was the one she had engraved on their monument, Job 19:26…. In my Flesh, I Shall See God.
