Nettie Ann Phillips Lawson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 6, 1913 at Monticello, the daughter of the late Joseph Louis Phillips, Jr. and Chellie Siviles Phillips. She was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Watson Chapel and enjoyed writing poetry and music and also loved to read.

Mrs. Lawson died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Sheridan Nursing and Rehabilitation at the age of 95. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey C. Lawson, Sr.; a son, Billy Lawson; sister, Mary Gardner; brothers, Jody Phillips, Howard Phillips, and Joseph Louis Phillips.

Survivors include her son, Harvey C. "Sonny" Lawson, Jr. and wife Brenda of Redfield; Daughter-in-law, Jodie Lawson of Sheridan; grandchildren, Sherry Harris, Cheryl Mote, Vickie Easley, all of Sheridan and Kevin Lee Lawson and Chris Allen Austin, both of Redfield; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 23, 2008 at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. There will be no visitation. Pallbearers will be Bo Harris, Ross Mote, Jim Easley, Michael Harris, Nick Mote, Adam Mote, Colt Easley, and Lawson Easley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Lawson, Chris Lawson, Anna Easley, Christian Mote, and Tanner Harris.
