Obituary

Nola Elouise Miller Barnes of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 24, 1938 in Bismarck, Arkansas the daughter of the late Carl Oather and Ora Thomas Miller. She was a member of Pine Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Grapevine, was formerly the food service administrator for the Sheridan Detention Center, and was a member of the Grant County Singing Club. In addition to being a magnificent cook, she was also a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Barnes died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Hot Spring County Medical Center at the age of 69.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bill Barnes who died November 15, 2005; brother, Joe Miller and sister, Floy Jean Merritt.

Survivors: Sons, Danny and wife Lisa Barnes of East End; Darrell and wife Stacy Barnes of Sheridan;
Sister, Maxine Whitley of Malvern;

4 grandchildren; Laura Beth, Rachel, Bradley and Kayla Barnes.
1 great grandchild, Tinsley Geddings

Sisters-in-law: Sue Caple, Mary Williams, Betty Miller and Mary Blankenship; Very special friends, Bud and Elaine Lindquist of Minot, North Dakota, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Rev. Jim Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 5-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pine Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 4890 Grant 14, Grapevine, Arkansas 72057 or the Arkansas Cancer Research Institute.

Pallbearers will be Michael Hester, Roger House, Ricky Williams, Gary Williams, John Whit Golden, Juan Caple, Grant Golden and Colton Caple. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Joe Cotton, Franklin Pumphrey, Robert Clement, Keith Clement, Don Carter, Ewel Lowman, L.C. Harrington and members of Childers Hunting Club.
