Obituary

Norman Eugene Morehouse, Sr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 1 6, 193 0 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Harold John Morehouse and Constance Cox Morehouse. H e was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan , Arkansas.

He proudly ministered and witnessed , alongside h is wife , Marg a ret , at the Sheridan and Malvern jails and in prison ministries. Norman loved Jesus with everything he had and shared Him with everyone he met. He was an accomplished craft sman and l oved old Western movies , Louis L'Amour books , and authored many Christian Western novels .

Norman proudly served his country in the Navy alongside his brother, Robert " Bobby " Carl Morehouse . Serving on board USS Wasp (CV-18) during the Korean War , h e was awarded the National Defense Medal . He was honorably discharged in 1953.

H e dearly loved his children, grandchildren , great grandchildren, and great , great grandchildren. H e was a Godly example to them and to all who knew him. H e left everyone he met with , "Remember, Jesus loves you ". His two great loves were Jesus and his cherished wife of 65 years, "Maggie".

Mr. Morehouse went to be with his Lord on Satur day, Jun 5 , 20 21 on Hospice Care at home at the age of 91 .

In addition to his wife , Margaret Poole Morehouse, and parents, Harold and Constance Morehouse, he was preceded in death by h is brother , Bobby , half brother , John Harold , and h is grandson, Scott O'Steen .

H e is survived by h is daughter, Connie L ynn and husband Fran k Bu ckn er of Gresham, Oregon; son, Norman Eugene Morehouse, Jr . and wife Patti of DeWitt; two grandchildren, Nancy and husband Jason Dunnahoo , and Emily Brooks ; six great grandchildren, Pixie, Sarah, Scott, Alainna , Ryan, and Colin ; three great , great grandchildren, Jericho, Riverl eigh , and Amelia ; his adored nieces, Lynn and husband Igor Ve ksl er and Donna Dobro , and a host of friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6 :00 until 8 :00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thurs day, Jun 10 , 20 21 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan . Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattville .
