Obituary

Nyoka Edom-Brown of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 9, 1943 in Parkin, Arkansas the daughter of the late John Luther and Hazel Mae Hoselton Brown. She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a member of the Sheridan Red Hat Strutters. She described herself as a "Domestic Goddess". Nyoka had such great love for her Church, her family and her friends and her smile, her laugh and her larger than life personality will live on. She fought cancer with dignity and class and lived every day of her life to the fullest.

Mrs. Brown died at her home at the age of 63.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Edom, sisters, Grace Kimble and Gerry Enoch; brother, J.D. Brown and a granddaughter Brittney Keintz.

Son, Glen E. Edom and Wife Leigh Ann of Sheridan;
Daughters, Deanna Lynn Brown and husband Randall of Houston, Texas; Christy Renee Hallum and husband Fred of Lonoke;
Brothers, Barron Brown of California; Larry Brown of Beaufort, North Carolina; and James Eldridge of Parkin;
Sisters, Gloria Meche of Lafayette, Louisiana; Linda Wallace of Knoxville, Tennessee;
Grandchildren; Randi Winn of Malta, New York; Derrick Brown of Seattle, Washington, Sydney Hallum of Lonoke, Crystal Keintz and Jacob Ray Edom both of Sheridan.
Great Grandchildren; David Ray and Lorilei Kaitlin Winn.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Walton and Bro. Brandon Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation: 5-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
