Odelo Pierre Pitre, Jr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 11, 1947 in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, the son of the late Odelo Pierre Pitre, Sr. and Irene Blanchard Pitre. He passed away at his home on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the age of 73.

Mr. Pitre was of the Catholic faith. He had served in the United States Navy from 1965-1967, where he had served on the SS Boxer, was a member of United Veterans League, and an active member of the Marine Corp League. He was a devoted husband, father and friend who loved to cook and feed people.

In addition to his parents and mother-in-law he was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Pitre.

Survivors include his wife, caregiver and best friend of 54 years, Nelia Anderson Pitre of Sheridan; sons, Odelo "Pete" Pitre III and wife Paula of Sheridan; James Pitre of Houma, Louisiana; daughter, Theresa Pitre LeBoeuf and husband Benny of Houma, Louisiana; chosen children, Retta "Christy" Anderson, Angie Scott, and Rachel Holland; sisters, Shirley Deroche of Bourg, Louisiana, Earline Liner and husband Jerry of Bourg, Louisiana; father-in-law, James Walton Anderson of Sheridan, brother-in-law, Jack Anderson of Venezuela; sister-in-law, Diane Stevens and husband Timmy of Malvern; grandchildren, Amber Pitre, Brooke Pitre, James W. Pitre, Jr., Camden Smith, Mary Pitre, Jonah LeBoeuf, great grandchildren, Riley, Brody, Savannah, and Solomon; bonus grandchildren, Bethanie, Ava, Tyler, Mahlon, Katie, Nick, JR, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
