Alta Orlene Barner of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 29, 1940 in Camden, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Orland Alton Barner and Hattie S. Dunn Barner. She was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan.

Ms. Barner died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Alcoa Pines Healthcare and Rehab in Benton, at the age 80.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Briscoe, sister, Arletta Noore, and great granddaughter, Abby Pennington.

Survivors: son, Keith (Ann) Smith of North Carolina; daughter, Sheila (Terry) Carter of Sheridan; grandchildren, Christopher (Autumn) Phillips, Dakota (Cheyenne) Phillips, Mandy (Ryan) Pennington; great grandchildren, Reese Pennington and Callie Phillips and a host of extended family members and friends.
