IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Otis E.
Macneill, Sr.
June 26, 1938 – October 14, 2025
Otis MacNeill (Mac) of Sheridan, AR, was born June 26, 1938 in Lynn, MA, the son of the late Neil and Ella (Parson) MacNeill. He was a graduate of Lynn Trade High School. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force. Mac retired from Chicopee Manufacturing in NLR after 32 years of service. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason.
Mac loved building houses and helped some of his neighbors build their homes. His other hobbies included going to the Petit Jean Antique Car Shows. He went every year, rain or shine; he never wanted to miss them. He also loved being at the lake in his boat or just taking in the view from the cabin. He liked to cook and he teased his grandchildren that his cooking was "Delicious," while their cooking was "Pretty Good." Family time meant alot to him. His favorite song was Softly and Tenderly. When he was in the hospital, he sang it every night. When he was not able to get out, he never missed watching church services Sunday morning on TV.
Mac went to be with the Lord on October 14 at the age of 87. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother and 7 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bonita (Stoops) MacNeill, daughters Bonnie (Rick) Fitzgerald of Sheridan and Penny (Frank) Dougan of East End, son Oddie MacNeill (Trish) of Memphis, TN, brother Donnie MacNeill of Florida, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Baptist Health Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Mac while he was at home.
