Owen Lee Rhoden of Sheridan, Arkansas passed November 27, 2023 after a short battle with cancer at home surrounded by his family at his side.
Owen was born May 3, 1942 in Sheridan to Rommie and Eulabee Tomberlin Rhoden of Sheridan.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Sue Mann. Owen is survived by his best friend, his wife Linda Sue Guyse Rhoden; two sons, Lee Rhoden of Iowa and Scott Rhoden of Sheridan; and a grandson, Eric Rhoden of Sheridan.
Owen loved to travel with the love of his life, Linda Sue, and they traveled over the years to all 48 contiguous states, as well as Canada and Mexico. They were married March 31, 1961 and celebrated their 62nd anniversary this year. He was a 1960 graduate of Sheridan High School and a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was a career railroad man, retiring after 42 years of service at Rock Island Railroad, Missouri Pacific Railroad, and the Union Pacific Railroad. He also owned Rhoden & Rhoden Photography for 20 years, doing portraits, weddings, proms, Little League baseball team photos, and other special activities like album covers for local gospel group "The Mid-South Boys" and Billy McGarity's "Blue Mountain Bluegrass Band."
His hobbies included wood working, carpentry, antique cars and of course, The Razorbacks.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with his brother-in-law, Darrell Mann officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is also Saturday, from 10:00-11:00 A.M.
