Paul Wayne Hackney of Sheridan, Arkansas was born November 20, 1941 in Morenci, Arizona, the son of the late Paul Willis and Gertrude Poteet Hackney. He was a member of Marlow Missionary Baptist Church, a retired logger and a United States Marine. He enjoyed traveling and gardening.

Mr. Hackney died at his home on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the age of 82.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Hackney.

Survivors: wife and caregiver of 44 years, JoAnn Evich Hackney of Sheridan; son, Paul Hackney (Wanda) of Grapevine; daughters, August Hackney (Jace Hendrix) of Red Bluff, CA, Rachel Hackney of Sheridan; mother-in-law, Carol Sands of Yuma, AZ; brother-in-law, Joseph Evich of Yuma, AZ,: sister, Marthann Stone of Spokane Valley, WA; 4 grandchildren, Paul, Joey, Caleb and Jace and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Marlow Missionary Baptist Church with Bro.  John Mark Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in the Ico Community.
