Obituary

Peggy Lee Smith, 73 years old of Sheridan, Arkansas, peacefully passed in the arms of our Lord on July 8, 2021 in Yellville, Arkansas. Peggy was born in Sheridan on November 22, 1947, to the late Theodore and Ruby Smith. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where she served many years as the Church Secretary. She was a 1966 graduate of Prattsville High School. Peggy made her career at Sterling Faucet in Sheridan for 28 years before retiring.

Peggy spent most of her life taking care of others, putting herself always second. She cared for her aging parents, then her brother until his death. In last couple of years of life, she got to experience things she had only dreamed of. Her niece Dana moved her to Mountain Home where she lived with her until moving to an Assisted Living. She got to ride in boats, enjoy the lake, go to restaurants, visit state parks and spend quality time with family. Dominos was the game she loved since childhood and once she was close to family, she showed her skills by beating us most of the time. Cats were one of her weaknesses, she would feed up 30 cats at one time, her heart was so big for caring for others, whether it be

Human or animal. Her best friend ended up being a German Shepherd, Zeppelin. He would wake her up every morning and absolutely loved his Peggy.

She had a green thumb for plants and flowers and had a beautiful array of all types. She played softball on a softball team. We believe it was a team sponsored by Sterling/Kohler.

Children blessed her life throughout the years, even though she never had any of her own. She was a second Mom to her nieces and nephews as they grew, giving them a home away from home. Getting older made her love even greater, extending all the way to the great, great nieces and nephews. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Ruby (Kelley) Smith and her brothers, James Doyle Smith and Billy Roy Smith. Survivors include one brother, Jimmy Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas; nephews, Mike (Tina) Smith of Stafford, Texas, Kelley "(Kathrine) Smith of Bauxite, Arkansas, four nieces, Dana (Neil) Smith and Jennifer (Stacey) King both of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Amanda Nolen and Theresa Eslick both of Little Rock, Arkansas.

We would like to thank Somerset Senior Living in Yellville, Elmcroft Assisted Living in Mountain Home and Legacy Hospice in Harrison. Visitation will be Monday July 12, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral will be 10:00 A.M., July 13, 2021 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Ewing officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville.
