Philip Charles Barranco, Jr. of Hensley, Arkansas was born January 25, 1957 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of the late Philip Charles Barranco, Sr., and Ella Lois Wilson Barranco. He had served in the US Navy, was a member of Sheridan First United Methodist Church and due to retire from the Pine Bluff Arsenal in October. He loved to rebuild and ride motorcycles, as well as playing in a blues band in Memphis. He had just learned how to play the bass guitar.
Mr. Barranco died Wednesday, June 6, 20107 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 61.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Barranco and a sister, Paula Barranco.
Survivors: wife, Shelba Johnson Barranco of Sheridan; sons, Jonathon and wife Nikki Barranco of Lubbock, Texas, Daniel and wife Tamera Barranco of Hensley; brother, Robert and wife Amy Barranco of Hot Springs; sisters, Vanessa Eckert of Fayetteville, Teresa and husband Doug Hults of Little Rock; grandchildren, Eric and Jonah Barranco; his fur babies, Daisy Duke, Dolly, Cinnabunny and Pepper and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Kirkpatrick officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sheridan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth Stock or the Backpack Program at Sheridan First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 357, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
