Obituary

He was a member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, was retired from Arkla Gas Co., and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Alabama during WWII. One of Red's favorite pastimes, was singing, playing, leading, or anything else that had to do with good ol' fashioned shape-note southern gospel music. He was formerly a member of several local gospel groups, including a group from Star City many years ago, called the Twinkle City Quartet. He taught singing schools and led music at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church for many years and in recent years, participated in the Friday night "Pickin' and Grinnin" singing in Prattsville.
