Richard Samuel Coursey of Sheridan, Arkansas was born in Augusta, Arkansas on May 30, 1933, the son of the late Richard Oliver and Reba Thorne Coursey. He died at his home in Sheridan on May 21, 2009 at the age of 76 years.
He was a truck driver for the city of Sheridan; a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was predeceased by a son, James Coursey and a brother, Floyd Pasley.
Survivors are 2 sons, Richard Coursey of Tennessee;
Bradley and wife Brenda Coursey of Sheridan; One brother, Buddy Coursey of Benton;
Three sisters, Opal and husband Odell Edwards of Memphis;
Christine and husband Wayne Carter of Star City;
Peggy and husband J.C. Pratt of Cabot;
7 Grandchildren- Misty Burton and husband John; Haley and Tabitha Robinson; Bridgett Coursey; Ashley Coursey; Baily Coursey and Ethan Coursey;
2 Great-Grandchildren, Jynika and Johnny Burton;
Graveside Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Cemetery in Sheridan, with Rev. Tony Pasley officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM on Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
Pallbearers will be Bradley and Richard Coursey; Mike Moore; Brandon Wells; Kenneth Dixon and Eric Coursey.
