IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard "Dick"
Housel
May 12, 1940 – August 8, 2024
Richard "Dick" H. Housel peacefully passed away on August 8, 2024, at his home in Arkansas due to natural causes. He was 84 years old. He was predeceased by his mother Gertrude, father William F., sisters Edith and Ruth, and brother William "Billie" H. He is survived by his four children: Annette Housel-Ghering, Richard A. Housel, Michelle L. Housel-Smith, and James H. Housel Sr. Dick was also the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Dick began his career as a sheet metal worker in Buffalo, NY, where he was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #9. In 1978, he relocated to Colorado and transitioned to a career as an auto mechanic, ultimately retiring after running his own automotive shop with his brother, Billy.
A passionate tinkerer, Dick had a knack for fixing things around the house, a talent he happily passed down to his grandson Kyle. He enjoyed outdoor activities, particularly hunting and fishing, and was an enthusiastic marksman, sharing this love with his daughter Michelle, son Ricky, and granddaughter Danielle.
Known for his expertise as a handyman, Dick was skilled in woodworking, electrical work, and general repairs. He was always eager to lend a helping hand to others. While he held high expectations for his immediate family, he instilled values of hard work and craftsmanship in them.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. Dick requested that those who knew him remember him as he was and cherish the memories shared with him.
