Rickey F. Whitaker, Sr. was born on October 19, 1947 to Willis and Flora Belle Whitaker in Sheridan, Arkansas.  He was a life-long resident of Grant County and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1966.  Rickey proudly served twenty-two years in the Arkansas Army National Guard and drove a truck for Yellow Freight up until his retirement.  He was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church.

Rickey passed away at the age of 74 on November 9, 2021.  He is proceeded in death by his parents, and sister Betty Wilene Walker. Survived by his caring wife of 52 years, Linda Davis Whitaker, son Rickey (Kelli) Whitaker, Jr., brother Dickey (Louise) Whitaker, sister Kathleen (Joe) Brewer, granddaughter Cameron (Chris) Knighten and great grandchildren Whit and Drew Knighten and a number of nieces and nephews.

Rickey delighted in time spent with his granddaughter, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews who will treasure their memories of him.  Rickey had an interest in vehicles, he enjoyed Custom Car Shows and even driving through automotive dealerships looking at the newest models on the lot.

Funeral services will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. with Bro. Brent Williams and Bro. Brad Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday night at the funeral home from 6:00-7:00 P.M.

Pallbearers are Chris Knighten, John Lunsford, Marks Mitchell, Pete Pitre, Jim Taggart and Zach Whitaker
