Obituary

Growing up between a farm, the steel mill areas of Ohio, West Virginia and Military Stepchild in Texas Bob saw a future of steel mill or gang life. He went down with his cousins to join the services when he was 17, The Army Air Corp was the only ones that would accept him, but he needs a signature of a Parent…his world opened.
Many more states plus several more countries like Guam, Puerto Rico, Germany, Thule, Greenland and more hunting elk, deer, pheasant, and fishing in streams and offshore too. Watersports and all fashions of ball games worldwide (would this be when he became 'Duke'). It appears that a new assignment is due to the need of a certain position on a ball team rather than actual work position…I do not know…just saying, I could be wrong (According to his work awards and accomplishments HE REALLY WAS WANTED FOR HIS BRAIN!)…Seems to always be a ball team or 3 that he is on at each assignment.
Becoming a part of Security Service limited his assignment areas he wanted to go to, so he retired after 23 years he become Station Manager for the corporate office of Thrifty Rent A Car for 10 yrs in Oklahoma City, OK. Concurrently he serves as a Special Deputy for Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.
He buys a weekend place on Lake Texoma, continues to fish, enjoy water sports, BBQs, Quail hunt in Kansas teach grandson Kody to fish and … Back in OKC, he changes Dentist, becomes friends with the Registered Dental Hygienist, marries the RDH wife- P.A. Bunch Snyder ……they move to the lake, his jobs are Security Guard at the Marina, Oklahoma State Park Ranger, and Oklahoma Lake Patrol and Striper Guide in his off hours, always sending a half gallon of frozen stripper home if they did not catch fish. Thrifty RAC, Park and Drive Lessee, has him back in OKC for a yr then back to the lake as Kingston Police Department Patrolman. Do you see the helping people person here.
1999 several who served at Ramey AFB in Puerto Rico decided to establish a museum to tell the story of Ramey. Bob as a Charter member served on the Board of Directors for a few yrs of the Ramey AFB Historical Association Museum in its infancy. He loved his service time in PR and frequent visits. He also served on the Board of Directors of AACS or Air Force Communicator and Air Traffic Controllers Association.
Was Oklahoma Worshipful Master of Kingston Lodge # 287 AM & FM, Grand Lodge of Oklahoma, 1989 (another helping organization). Order of the Eastern Star, Grand Chapter of Oklahoma Worthy Patron 4 times. Grand Representative of Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, Oklahoma OES 1994-96, Grand Representative of North Dakota in Oklahoma Grand Chapter of OES, 2010-12. Worthy Patron 4 times in Arkansas for Faith Chapter #223 and Sheridan Chapter #212, Order of the Eastern Star of Arkansas. (helping again) Until he had limited mobility, Bob enjoyed travel on cruises, planes, and automobiles, from Alaska to the Caribbean. He has been the oldest on the zipline canopy tour of Costa Rica He enjoyed visiting with anyone from anywhere.
As he has had to slow down in the last 16 yrs he has championed the veterans. As a Lifetime member of Air Force Sgt Assoc, the DAV, several others too long to list and a member of The American Legion, a Veteran with Agent Orange complications. He has fought for ALL Veterans for ALL complications.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel Petty Snyder.
He loved his family, wife, P.A. Bunch Snyder,  daughter, Sherri D. Smith (Phil), son Larry Snyder, grandson Kody Stinson (Leamarie), great grandson Chance Morton, and his friends. He really liked to stay connected with all he served with and if he could have stayed without pain…he would still be with us. But God must have thought he needed a rest.
AS ONE OF 4 CLASS OF 2016 CMSGT (RET) SNYDER CLOSED HIS US AIR FORCE CYBERSPACE OPERATIONS AND SUPPORT HALL OF FAME ACCEPTANCE REMARKS. OLD COMMUNICATORS NEVER DIE; THEY JUST STOP TRANSMITTING.
