Robert Byron "Bob" Caldwell, II, better known as "Grand-Bob" to his family, of Prattsville, was born February 24, 1952 at Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Robert Byron Caldwell, I and the late Joanne Rimer Caldwell MaHaffey. He was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church at Prattsville and was a project manager for VCC Construction. Bob loved adventures such as skydiving, bungee jumping and scuba diving with his wife and son. He was an avid reader who loved to travel to historical places, particularly Civil War battlefields.

Mr. Caldwell died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at his home in Prattsville, surrounded by his family, at the age of 56.

Survivors include his wife and best friend, Sharen Hope Caldwell; sons, Robert Byron "Robby" Caldwell III and wife Melissa, and Sammy Caldwell; mother-in-law, Virginia Hope, all of Prattsville; father, Robert Byron Caldwell, I of Stockton, Missouri; sister, Linda Caldwell and her daughter, Bob's niece, Gillian Baillie, both of Bella Vista; grandchildren, Bradlee, Bailey, Autumn, Allee, and "Little" Robby; he is also survived by numerous other extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Neal Pumphrey and Bro. Ronnie Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Larry Hardin, Richard Boling, Dean Cupit, Mark Middleton, Mike Stubbs, Noble Emberton, Nolan Emberton and Byron Calaway. Honorary pallbearers are Alvin Hardin and Ron Rimer.
