Robert Clinton Graves, Sr., age 75 of Sheridan died Thursday, June 23, 2005. Born in Sheridan, Arkansas on February 2, 1930, he was the son of the late G.A. (Jiggs) and Bessie Easterly Graves.

A life-long resident of Sheridan, Mr. Graves was a 1948 graduate of Sheridan High School. Before retirement, Mr. Graves was the owner and operator of Graves Food Market at Sheridan. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan and had served on the administrative board. Mr. Graves had been a member of the Sheridan City Council for many years.

Mr. Graves is survived by his wife, Bobby Nelson Graves, whom he married on February 1, 1952. He is also survived by three sons, Robert Clinton Graves, Jr., and wife Debbie of McKinney, Texas; Chris Nelson Graves and wife Anne of Russellville, and Martin Graves and wife Michelle, also of Russellville.

Mr. Graves' grandchildren are Rebecca Graves and Robert Clinton Graves III of Sheridan and Nelson Graves and Nicolette Graves, both of Russellville.

Other survivors are a brother, G. A. Graves and a sister, Carolyn Davenport , both of Little Rock. He was predeceased in death by his sister, Betty Horton

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 26, 2005 at First United Methodist Church in Sheridan with Reverend Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Pallbearers are David Reynolds, Russell Waddle, Ronnie Parsley, Scott Paty, Carl Clinton, Russell Crouse, David Hooks, Joe Wise, Joe Harris, Leon Lancaster, Danny Bone, Joe Waddle, Sparky Hedden and Milburn Sites.
