Robert Thomas Long of Sheridan, Arkansas was born January 14, 1946 in Pangburn, Arkansas, the son of the late Robert and Dora Sullivan Long. He was a retired Pentecost minister and a member of Forest Tower Baptist Church.

Thomas died at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the age of 69.

Thomas was a jokester who enjoyed playing the harmonica and telling stories. He loved to hunt, fish, and work in the garden as well as spend time with his family. His greatest love was reading his Bible and preaching God's word.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sons, brothers, Henry Long, Melvin Long, Charles Long and Jerry Long; two sisters, Minnie Bottorff and Gracie Long.

Survivors: wife of 36 years, Dorothy (Kathy) Roberts Long of Sheridan; sons, Lee Long of Sheridan and Daniel Long of Searcy; daughters, April Long of Sheridan, Tammy Draper of Donaldson, Ruth Songer of Malvern and Barbara Long of Malvern; brothers, Johnny Long of Cave City, Carl Long of Beebe, and Jimmy Long of Yelm, WA; sisters, Maebell Sandstrom of Olympia, WA, Marie Boyce of Searcy and Brenda Mason of Beebe; grandchildren, Dora Bourland, Jessie, Winter, and Wyatt Draper, Tyler Gehring, Toni and Kayla Songer; great grandchildren, Ace and Victoria Songer; honorary grandson, Jason Gross and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky Tipton,and Bro. Eric Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be Thursday, from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Roberts, Dean Roberts, Wayne Roberts, Clifton Roberts, Tim Oden, Dub Hedrick, Elrod Roberts and Jason Gross.
