Ronald Keith Gortney of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 12, 1950 in Little Rock, the son of the late LC Gortney and Betty Sue Duke. He was a veteran of the US Army, a member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church and of the American Legion and worked as the Maintenance Supervisor for the Grant County Museum for many years.

Ronald died Friday, July 2, 2021 at his home at the age of 70.

Mr. Gortney loved serving his community through his work with the Grant County Museum.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Glen Edward Duke and two brothers, Glen Allen Duke and Johnny Gortney.

Survivors; son, Glenn (Shelly) Gortney of Mansfield, LA; brother, Danny Gortney of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Misti Gortney, Rusty (Marissa) Gortney; great grandchild, Easton Gortney; dear friend Kathy Gortney and her daughter, Christy Kresse, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, Arkansas.
