Obituary

Ronald Gene Johnson of Sheridan, Arkansas, born September 29, 1932 in Donaldson, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, son of the late Robert Woodrow and Altha Mae Willis Johnson.

He passed away surrounded by his family on July 24th, 2019 at the age of 86. Ronald was a proud husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and retired Navy Veteran. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Woodell Johnson, and two of his children Laura Jan Johnson and Terry Jon Gibbs.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Jackson Johnson of Sheridan; children, Norman Cox and wife Debra (Dover, AR), Barbara Gibbs (Sheridan, AR), Lisa Tompkins and husband Gregg (Sheridan, AR), Jerry Gibbs (Sheridan, AR), Sheila McCarthy and husband Paul (Brimfield, MA), Candice Blevins and husband Matt (Hot Springs, AR), sister Mary Janet Romine, and many nieces and nephews who were always on his mind and in his stories. His pride and joy were his many grandchildren: Nikki, Dawn, Jeremy, Josh, Lindsey, Kyle, Briana, Caitlin, Dawson, Jarrett, Jacob, Cullen, Logan, Erin, Julianna, Jerry Jr. Tiffany, Chad, David, Trey, Courtney, Britney, Austin, Matthew, and Leah, and his great grandchildren: Tyler, Austin, Jacob, Shadow, Jaxon, Jagger, Jaden, Brady, Emma, Gavin, Keifer, Bella, Oliver, Gage, Aubri, Ceryniti, Zyair, Paris, Hazel, Caleb, Calyn, Caley, Ryan, Keaton, Elizabeth, Jada, Coulter, Ensley, Addison, Stella.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel with Evangelist Matt Romine officiating. Burial will follow at Orion Cemetery near Redfield. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 P.M.

Pallbearers are Kyle Williams, Cullen McCarthy, Logan McCarthy, Dawson Whitmire, Jarrett Willis, Clark Johnson, Kevin Johnson, and Mike Romine. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Gibbs, Gary Williams and the Johnson Deer Camp Members.
