Roy Wendell Atkinson of Sheridan , Arkansas was born February 11, 1932 in Eldorado, the son of the late Vernon and Josephine Roland Atkinson. He was retired owner of Atkinson Sanitation.

Roy died Friday, August 19, 2005 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 74.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, J.C. Atkinson, Troy Atkinson, and Reedy Atkinson; sisters, Pauline Colley and Eva Lee Kerksieck.

Survivors include:

Wife: Joyce Hamlin Atkinson of Sheridan;
Daughters: Gail Lewis of Malvern;
Debra Reece and husband Doyle of Magnet Cove;
Janet Springer and husband Kenneth of Poyen.

Step-daughter: Linda Griffith of Sheridan;

Step-son: Gary Paul of Benton;

Sister: Faye Turner and husband Jim of Benton;

Brothers: Herman Atkinson and wife Carolyn of Malvern;
Gene Atkinson and wife Sharon of Westwood, California;

14 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 22, 2005 at Cooper Cemetery near Malvern with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Visitation: Sunday 4-6 P.M.
