Roy Monroe Duncan of Hensley, Arkansas was born May 13, 1939. He went into the arms of Jesus on March 15, 2015 at surrounded by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Gladys Duncan, infant son, David, infant daughter, Stefanie and great granddaughter, Izzy.
Survivors are his wife, Ruby Duncan of Hensley; son, Jim (Jodi) of Jacksonville; daughter, Pam of Little Rock; son, Darryl (Joyce) of California; son, Kevin of Utah; son, Roy Lee of Little Rock; grandchildren, Tori, Donnie, Stephaine, Carmeron, Tim and Tashia; great grandchildren, Jack, Adyen, Zeck and Gage; sisters, Lois (Shelby)Henderson of Mississippi; Delta(Melvin) Yandel of Danville; Teresa Pace of Texas; Lisa Mayer of Georgia;Linda Hall of Louisiana; brothers; James (Judi) Duncan of Louisiana; Jackie(Donna) Duncan of Sherwood; Glen (Jenni) Duncan of Little Rock and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He loved hunting and fishing when he was younger and also racing cars at Benton. Roy did that until he was saved and baptized, then his passion became Mexico Mission work. He started taking Bibles to Mexico and it seemed he couldn't get enough. He always said one day he would be able to walk around without crutches and know what the people were saying. He is doing that right now. After he was saved he never faltered, and he believed if you were saved your life would show it. He truly loved the Lord. He was a member of Orion Missionary Baptist church and had served in the United States Army.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Orion Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Easley and Bro. Paul Sowell officiating. Burial will follow at Orion Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jeff and Burke Duncan, R.J. Spann, Chris Duncan, Shane and Jason Smith.
The family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, CNA's, Respiratory Therapists and Physical Therapists at Cornerstone , St. Vincents Hospital for all the kindness they showed for Ruby and the loving care for Roy.
