Ruby Darlene Stane Smothers of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 1, 1958 in Tyranza, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Knotley O. and Anna Mae Freeman Stane. She was a member of Junet Pentecostal Church in Sheridan, and had been a mail carrier for many years. She enjoyed decorating, housecleaning and spending time with her precious grandchildren. She was a graduate of Cross County High School.

Ruby died Friday, September 25, 2015 in Sheridan, at the age of 57 as a result of an automobile accident.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Tyler, Alice Gardner and Lily White and a brother, Frankie Rankin.

Survivors: husband, Sam Smother; sons, Michael and Mark Smothers; daughters, Michelle and Misty Smothers all of Sheridan; brothers, Wayne, Jay, Ricky, Junior Stane; sisters, Brenda King, Cleo Wilhite; grandchildren, Colby Smothers, Kylie Smothers, Zoey Smothers, Dalton Harris, Macaylen Robertson Smothers, Aiden Robertson, Casey Moon, Austin Browning, Adison Dean Browning, Anna Grace Smothers, Brayleen Smothers, Jackson Brazeale and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 28, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Center Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 until service time.

Pallbearers are Elmo Tyler, Brandon Rhoden, Joshua Brazeale, Jamie Lunsford, Havis Strom and Mike Smothers. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.
