William Russell Hollinger of Prattsville, known by many as "Hide," went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, January 15, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born the youngest of 10 children to Wes and Nancy Hollinger on December 5, 1941.
Russell was a member of Sweet Home MBC in Prattsville, AR and dearly loved his church and community. One question he frequently asked was, "How is church folks?"
Russell was retired from H.G. Toler & Son Lumber Company and enjoyed working in the "woods" most of his adult life. He was a member of PST Hunting Club and RMR Hunting Club and as he put it, "I have a foot print under every tree out there." An avid outdoorsman on land and also in another favorite spot, sitting in a bream bed or floating the Saline River. In 82 years, there were not many dull moments.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Wes and Nancy (Roberts) Hollinger as well as 4 brothers; Dennis, Bernice, Charles, and Ralph Hollinger and 4 sisters; Eunice Mooney, Lois Pearson, Floy Sproul, and Joann Walters. He is survived by 1 sister, Orene Caple.
Russell is also survived by his loving wife of 58 years Lynda Hollinger, 3 sons, Scott (Alissa), Neal (Kelly), and Barry (Angel) Hollinger all of Prattsville. Grandchildren; Kyle Mennenga, Michael and Tori Hollinger, Erin (Tadd) Daggett, Trent, Joshua, and Brooke Hollinger. He is also survived by hundreds of friends, family, and loved ones as almost every stranger he met walked away a friend.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 19, 2024 at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, with Bro. Neal Hollinger and Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Doug Hollinger, Wade Hollinger, Jason Holiman, Jeremy Threlkeld, P.J. Mooney and Chase Buie. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
