Lavada Ruth Lyons Freeman of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 11, 1934 in Coy, the daughter of the late Jim Joseph and Ethel Coleman Lyons. She was a member of Sheridan Pentecostal Church of God where she served her Lord faithfully. She enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking, and working in her flower gardens. She also loved to rake her yard and be with her family. She was a retired cashier from Fisers Grocery.

Ms. Freeman died peacefully at her home on January 15, 2023 at the age of 88.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Freeman, her son, Jimmy Freeman, her sons-in-law, Tony Keeling and Joe McElroy, and her grandson, Brent McElroy.

Survivors: daughters, Dianne McElroy and Susan Keeling both of Sheridan; daughter-in-law, Tracie Freeman of Morrilton; sister and best friend, Jo Cantwell of Sheridan; 11 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Jackie Jones and Bro. Danny Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Brian McElroy, Mandy Chadick, Lindsey Harris, Tabitha Petty, Tiffany Thompson, Tim Wingard, Amber George, Andy Freeman, Shanna Green, Jacee Freeman, and Malachi Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Brodie McElroy, John Petty, Daniel Skorcz, Garrett Skorcz, and Mark Harris.

The family will be at the home of Dianne McElroy, 8 Toler Street, Sheridan, AR  72150.
