Ruth Ellen McGarity of Leola, Arkansas was born November 16, 1953 in Malvern, the daughter of the late R.G. and Sylvia Wingard Newton. She was Assembly of God and was a retired nurse. She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, flower arranging, collecting roosters and china dishes as well as traveling.

Ms. McGarity died at her home in Leola on October 30, 2023 at the age of 69.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her son, Bryan McGarity; brothers, Harold Newton and Robert Newton.

Survivors: daughter, Lori Ann Allen of Camden; brothers, Kenneth Newton of Leola, Claud (Sally) Newton of Leola, Charlie (Pamela) Newton of Leola; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 3, 2023 with visitation starting at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home with Bro. Gerald Wingard officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Leola.

Pallbearers are Darren Newton, Carl Newton, Reid Hedges, Printis Field, Tim Newton, Scott Newton and Roy Halpain.
