Listen to Obituary

With broken hearts but unshakable faith, we celebrate the truth that Salley Loraine Sipes, 41, of Sheridan, also known as “Sal-Sal” opened her eyes safe in the arms of Jesus, on Monday, February 9, 2026. He created her, and protected her. He blessed her with a loving heart, and in doing so, blessed everyone who knew her by sharing her with them. Now, He’s healed her completely and taken her HOME!

Salley was born, February 12, 1984 in Little Rock, to Clinton and Vickie Sipes. If you were in Salley’s life for over a few minutes, you were automatically her “Daddy, Mama, Sister, or Brother” There were a few that she even considered her “girls”. She didn’t let her physical limitations prevent her from being a light to so many people. There wasn’t a shy bone in her body. She powered through sickness and pain for years, trying to have the life that her friends had, but her body became tired and she had to come to terms with a new normal. The truth is, through all of the mountain tops and valleys in her life, she never let her faith waver. She loved Jesus, and she adored the literal thousands of people in her world. The internet allowed her a window out when her body would no longer allow her to go and do. It was expected to see her on social media liking a post or a photo and usually some Salley commentary to go with it. That being said, she had a bit of a temper, if anyone was messing with any of her folks. She was quick to lift others up and defend them.

Other than her Savior, Salley would want it mentioned what heroes her parents, Clinton and Vickie are. She was their only child and they gladly did anything in their power to help make her life better and more comfortable. They have no regrets, and don’t consider the love they shared with her to have been difficult. The hardest part was the pain she endured that they couldn’t take away. However, like Salley, her parents are well acquainted with the Same Jesus, who, in fact, could, would, and did, heal her completely.

She adored her family and often mentioned her grandparents already in Heaven that now she’s reunited with, Bacel V. and Loraine Sipes of Rowell and James “Dub” and Dorothy Welch Ewing of Sheridan.

She was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan and a 2002 graduate of Sheridan High School. There were loyal fans of the Sheridan Yellowjackets and Arkansas Razorbacks, and then there was Salley. She was the ultimate fan and was more than just a little vocal when it came to her teams. She would often “help” the coaches and “instruct” the referees when things didn’t go the way they should.

A celebration of Salley’s life will be held, and by her instruction, it will indeed be a celebration. If you truly knew her, you surely don’t think Salley wasn’t going to choreograph her funeral service do you. She went to the funeral home some time back and planned it herself. It is to be done her way and that is to insure that it isn’t sad, but celebrating her Jesus and where she is now. Services will be 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with her Pastor, Bro. Kenneth Click, and her Uncle, Bro. Robert Ewing, officiating. Burial will follow in Rowell Cemetery, Rowell, Arkansas. Visitation is Monday, 6:00-8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, please send any memorials in her memory to Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 337, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.

In honor of Salley, live the words of the song that she took to heart: Sing like no one is listening. Love like you’ve never been hurt. Dance like nobody’s watching, and live like it’s heaven on earth.

Oh, and if we know Salley, we’re pretty sure in Heaven, she found her mansion with an eternal supply of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes!
