Shelton Earl Corley of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 18, 1940 at Prattsville, Arkansas, the son of the late Hubert and Mildred Earlene Earle Corley. He was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, had served in the Arkansas National Guard and was retired as a Heating and Air Conditioning technician. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but Shelton's greatest joy was music. He loved to play and sing. He entertained countless people over the years with his gift of music.
Mr. Corley died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock as the result of a fire at his home. He was 69 years old.
Survivors include his sons, Greg and Marc Corley, both of Bryant; Brother, Phillip Corley of Prattsville and Sister, Pamela Ashworth of Sheridan.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. There will be no visitation. Pallbearers: Duell Lovell, James Norman Buie, Tim Edwards, Anthony Edwards, Jason Corley, Robert Booth, David Burrow, and Don Burrow. Honorary pallbearers: Bill Glassco, Johnny Martin and Joe Donald Pumphrey.
