IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherri Alison
Brown
October 18, 1957 – December 11, 2024
Sherri Alison Whiting Brown of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 18, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of the late Phillip Whiting and Forrestine Tidwell Whiting. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan and loved the lord with all her heart. She had a servant's heart. She served the Lord as a pastor's wife at Lono MBC, New Testament MBC in Colorado Springs, CO and Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Carthage. For the past 17 years she supported her husband as a Hospice Chaplain. She was a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior. She had worked several jobs in her earlier years such as teaching adult education or being the secretary of the Grant County Chamber of Commerce, however she found her true callings were to be a homemaker, a devout wife, a loving mother, and a spoiling grandmother. Sherri was a very creative lady and could craft just about everything from quilts to clothes to ceramics, she was also considered a "professional" knick-knack collector. Mrs. Sherri also loved to draw, cook, watch old westerns and, in their earlier years, go fishing with her husband John. She loved to sing and could be found often singing around the house while cooking or crafting, but above all she loved on this earth, she loved her family, spending time with them any time she could. Sherri had a spiritual servant's heart; she was a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior and would often tell her family "Remember it's not who you are, its who's you are."
Mrs. Sherri went home to see her Lord on Wednesday December 11, 2024, at her home at the age of 67.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Mike Whiting. She is survived by her husband of 49 years John Brown, daughter Angie Key (Travis), son Jason Brown (Sheri), brother Phillip Whiting Jr, and her grandsons Gabriel Brown (Sydney), Tully Key, and Garrett Key.
