Sidney Clois Gates of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 2, 1931 the son of the late Willie and Allie Ross Gates. He was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan. He retired as an inspector for the Corp of Engineers. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. The greatest joy in his life was his wife Bonnie.  Whether it was  traveling, making ceramics, or any other activity, Sidney and Bonnie enjoyed them, because they did everything together.

Mr. Gates died at his home on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the age of 90.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Bonnie Hale Gates; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Danny McGarrah.

Survivors: brother Max (Winona) Gates of Georgia; sisters-in-law Ann Carter of Sheridan, Bivian Hale of Pine Bluff; a host of nieces and nephews, numerous grandchildren, grandchildren and friends

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Monday December 6, 2021 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. Visitation will be prior the service from 1:00 until service time. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ron Theiss, Austen Theiss, Aron Theiss, Randall Woodall, Ron Harrington, Taylor Harrington, Tyler Harrington and Jessie James.
