Obituary

Stephen "Steve" Henry of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 19, 1961 at Little Rock, the son of Pamela Last Henry Williams and the late James C. Henry. He attended Grace United Methodist Church and had served for 7 years in the Arkansas Army National Guard. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Steve was best known in the community for his long-time work in the maintenance department for the Sheridan School District. Few people have ever had as much love for their job as Steve did. Rain or shine, heat or cold, Steve was always in place directing traffic, and making sure several generations of children now, have been safely entering and leaving the school on their buses. He had a servant's heart and took his work very seriously, because he had a genuine love and concern for the students, bus drivers, and his community. One of the highlights of the year for Steve was, each year, on the day before Christmas break, he would put on his Santa suit and direct traffic. It was hard to tell who was smiling more, Steve or the children on the buses. He truly cared for people and wasn't shy about letting them know it.

Steve died Monday, May 2, 2016 at his home in Sheridan, at the age of 54.
