Steve Robert Murphy of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 25, 1949 in Little Rock, the son of the late Steven L. and Betty Irvin Murphy. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan and had been the Treasurer for Sheridan/Lost Creek Cemetery Association for many years. He served in the United States Navy and was a Corpsman in the United States Marine Corp. in the Vietnam War.  He was also retired from the Grant County Road Department as an Equipment Operator.

Steve died at his home on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the age of 73.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Matthew.

Survivors: wife Sharon Paulette Uhiren Murphy of Sheridan; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Gracen Murphy of Little Rock; Daughter, Stephanie Murphy of Sheridan; sister, Judy Murphy of Sherwood; grandson, Mylo Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sheridan/Lost Creek Cemetery, P.O. Box 514, Sheridan, AR  72150.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Walton and Bro. Gary Copeland officiating.  Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is also Tuesday, from 10:00 AM until service time.

Pallbearers are Greg Dunlap, David Fitzgerald, Don Culpepper, Phil Threet, Glenn Edom and Mark Martindale. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Treat, Butch Campbell, Bobby Tippitt, Danny Schoggin, and members of the Grant County Sportsman Club
