IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven Lee
Holladay
February 14, 1951 – October 8, 2025
Steven Lee Holladay of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 14, 1951, in Washington D.C., Steve passed away Wednesday October 8, 2025, at UAMS following an accident doing what he loved, piddling in the deer woods.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell Holladay and Edna Lively Owens, a sister, Sheryl Bradshaw and a great niece, Kimberly Carter.
Steve is survived by his daughters, Meggan Murphy (Kevin) and Abby Whitaker (Zach) and his five grandchildren, Gracen and Gannyn Murphy and Remington, Charli and Indiana Whitaker.
As well as His frenemy / companion for over 20 years, Rebecca Forte.
He was blessed with the very best friends Terry Hitt and Carolyn Speights, and two people he admired and always looked forward to visiting with, his sister-in-law, Marilyn Fitzwater, and his brother-in-law, who was like a son, Shayne Nugent.
Steve loved being outdoors and spending time at his deer camp. He was a "collector" of all things that he might use again one day.
Papaw Steve was a cantankerous fella with a soft heart. He rarely met a stray (animal or human) he didn't take in-though he much preferred the animals. He loved going to watch his grandkids games but had to be told it started 30 minutes earlier to get him to stop tinkering in the yard and there on time. We never doubted how much he loved us.
He was a proud member of Williams Bend Hunting Club and IBEW, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a Master Electrician and one of the smartest people we know.
In memory of Steve, everyone needs to come choose a piece or two of [stuff] from his backyard along with at least one feral cat. (By appointment only).
A big thanks to Jeff and Ray Vance for their part in the finding of our dad. Love y'all so much, Meggan and Abby.
A casual visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Memorial Gardens from 5-7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, make a donation to the Sheridan Animal Control Center at the Sheridan Detention Center that jailed his dogs so many times over the years.
