Stonewall "Stoney" F. Lewis, of Sheridan, Arkansas was born in Indahoma, Oklahoma on July 29, 1918, the son of the late Clarence Ruff Lewis and Linnie Jane Whitaker Lewis. He died at the Sheridan Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on January 20, 2004 at the age of 85 years.
He was a retired lumberman for W.R. Wrape Stave Company; a member of First United Methodist Church at Sheridan; the Men's Bible Class; an early member of the Sheridan Golf Club; and was a veteran of the Navy during World War II and the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by son: Phil Lewis
Survivors are his wife, Gladys Reaves Lewis of the home;
Son: Scott Lewis and wife, Linda of Sheridan
Daughter: Pat Lewis Humphries and husband Jerry of Sheridan
Grandson: J. J. Humphries and wife Amy of Monticello
Granddaughter: Kris Humphries Newcomb and husband, Jeff of Benton
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 2:00 PM at First United
Methodist Church in Sheridan, with Reverend Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home-Sheridan (1-870-942-1306)
Visitation will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 5 - 7 PM. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church-Building Fund -
