Carolyn Sue Easley Chenault of Benton, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home September 12, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. Sue was born March 5, 1943 in Grapevine, Arkansas to the late Clarence and Fannie Easley.

Upon graduation of Pine Bluff Beauty School, she, her sister and Linda Bradford worked together for many years at The Beauty Box in Sheridan. She retired as a loan officer for Grant County Savings and Loan. She enjoyed traveling and seeing as much of God's beautiful creation as she could. If you knew her well, you knew that Sue's time was measured by how many months or days close to Christmas it was. She loved everything about Christmas and was always ready to decorate and celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Sue married Bro. J. Clyde Chenault in 1983 and joyfully served beside him for 43 years as a pastors’ wife and pianist. Her family and friends loved and adored her just as much as she loved them. When God created a mother, He had Sue in mind. A true pillar of strength and wisdom, strong in faith, supportive, a bit sassy and always able to put you in your place in a positive way.

She was preceded in death by her parents and great granddaughter, Madison Denise Mitchell.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde; sister, Marie Wilson; brother, Ronnie Easley; son, Eddy Mitchell (Melanie); son, Dennis Mitchell (Robin); daughter, Jill Huggins (Joe); daughter, Jackie Sasfai (Todd); ten grandchildren, Matthew Mitchell (Karen), Ryan Mitchell (Mary), Kristen Roberts (Brent), Ben Cassidy (Sarah), Justin Mitchell, Lauren Lunday (Bryce), Landon Huggins (Mary), Logan Lankford (Jacob), Mallory Morris and Brock Morris (Peyton); twelve great grandchildren, Tyler, Moriah, Aiden, Cassidy, Preston, Pierce, Piper, Maxton, Beck, Remy Jo, Talbot and soon expecting the arrival of River. Her family was her pride and joy.

Visitation will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, Thursday, 6:00-8:00 P.M.

Services will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Friday, 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow in Jones-Palestine Cemetery.
