Obituary

Betty Sue Allen Davis was born December 28, 1931 in Sheridan Arkansas the daughter of Moro and Betty (Easley) Allen. Sue left her earthly home surrounded by her loved ones on June 10, 2021.

Sue married the love of her life Raymond Freddie Davis on July 26, 1951. They were devoted members of First Landmark Baptist Church. Sue was a member of the Grace Sunday school class and the OWLS group. Sue's love for the Lord was steadfast. Her best advice was to pray and not to worry.

Sue and Raymond were married for 68 years. Their relationship was the foundation of what marriage should be and the example of what their family was built on. For better or worse they took care of each other and supported one another through every struggle, every heartache and every joy that came their way.

Sue was the mother of Libbie Tipton and Pattie Lites. She sewed every dress they wore until their wedding gown and even sewed the bridesmaids dresses for their wedding. She worked countless hours to make sure they had a new dress for every occasion. She also sewed for her mother, mother-n-law and grand-daughter. It did not matter the task, she took it on. Evening gowns to Halloween costumes she was a master seamstress.

Sue was also "Nannie" to 5 grand kids and 15 great grand kids. Her love for all of those kids and unconditional and unmeasuarable. Each time one of them left the house they were always sent with a "love you better than snuff." Without fail, every grand's birthday started before the rooster crowed with a call and sweet birthday song from Nannie. She was always extra pleased with herself if she was able to wake them up.

Sue had a great love for the outdoors, she and Raymond enjoyed working in their garden and crappie fishing at Lake Degray. According to her she always caught the biggest and the most fish.

She was also an avid card player and was always willing to beat anyone who wanted to play!

Sue was a wonderful but humble cook. If you went to see her you were going to get a treat but she would start every meal with "It's probably not fittin to eat." She was best known for her fried apple pies!

Sue's love for life and adventure was shared with her family and friends. She had an infectious laugh that would light up a room.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Davis, her sisters Pat Horton and Mildred Gartman, brother Edward Allen; 2 great granddaughters, Amelia Elizabeth Tipton and Annora Grace Tipton.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Libbie and Bruce Tipton of Sheridan, Pattie and Sherman Lites of Grapevine; grandchildren Ryan (Cindy) Tipton, Seth (Meaghan) Tipton, Eric (Wendy) Lites, Kyle (Andrea) Tipton, Chasidy (Nick) Lybrand; great grandchildren, Cole, Addison, Keeton, Tarik, Wyatt, Keller, Ezra, Kash, Janovia, Jasmine, Ruby, Josiah, Jonathan and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
