Sue Campbell Poe of Sheridan, Arkansas was born January 11, 1945 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late John & Sarah Northern Campbell. Sue, Granny to most, was an active member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where she played the piano weekly. Granny was a self-taught pianist, playing mostly by ear. She also had a love like no other for the Lord and Bible Trivia, always knowing she would win that game (and of course scrabble). But her true love was her family. She was married to her high school sweetheart for 58 years, Billy Poe. Sue had one son, Michael Poe, who she swore hung the moon and stars.
Mrs. Poe went to be with the Lord or as she would say "went to hug those pearly gates" on April 5, 2021 peacefully in her home. Along with her husband her survivors include a son, Michael (Tammie) Poe; grandchildren, Stephen (Meagan) Poe, Anthony Poe, Samantha Woodall and Paula (Matt) Lane, all of Sheridan; great grandchildren, Samantha Bennett, Kaitlyn Pumphery, Breanna Sanchez, Hailie Pumphery, Jakob White, Dakota White, Madisyn Poe, Joycelyn Butler, Natalie Woodall, Lathan Woodall, Weston Brown, Aria Lane, all of Sheridan; sister, Sara Campbell of North Little Rock; in laws, Virgina Halbert of Sheridan, Alice Brockway of Bebee, Ion Laughlin of Memphis, Mildred Felts of Sheridan, Phyllis Taylor of Sheridan, Margaret Hurst of Sheridan, Cindy Dewson of Nashville, Phillip Don Poe of Sheridan; and host of nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Sue is preceded in death by, brothers, John Campbell, Paul Campbell, Joe Campbell, JP Campbell; sisters, Florence Bouvet, Betty Dunnahoo, and Mary Smith.
Sue retired from Westinghouse and Phillips after 30 years and joined her husband at Poe's Battery Center for 15 years before officially retiring. In retirement her and Billy loved to travel to the Bahamas. Although they took many trips all over the world they always enjoyed going to Branson, she loved the flee markets and antique shops. She was sure to always find a new piece of jewelry.
