Sybil F. Williams Brown of Little Rock, formerly of Sheridan was born April 4, 1917 at Bearden, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James Rufus and Anna Hollingsworth Williams. She was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, was active in Bible Study and Sunday School and other caring ministries having a special involvement with the Church food pantry for many years.
Mrs. Brown died Friday, July 14, 2006 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 89. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron D. "Pete" Brown, Sr. and her son, Byron D. Brown, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Charles Finklea of Metairie, Louisiana; Sister, Patricia Ott of Conway, Arkansas; Grandchildren, Byron D. Brown III of Denton, Texas, Cynthia Neuhofel and husband Michael of Conway, Scott Finklea and wife Amber of Mandeville, Louisiana, Kim Everett and husband Mark of Metairie, Louisiana, Michael Finklea of Charlotte, North Carolina, Todd Finklea and wife Mandy of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; Great Grandchildren, Peter Maxwell Brown, Jace Weston Neuhofel, Averi Claire Finklea, and Faith London Finklea.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 9:30 A.M. Monday, July 17, 2006 at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 A.M. Monday at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock with Rev. Lynn Lindsey officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Tami Ricks, Angie Hadley, and also Monica Brown for the loving care they gave Mrs. Brown.
