Tammy Renee Johnson Drake of East End, Arkansas, was born August 22, 1962, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Wayne Johnson and Penny Biggs Johnson. Tammy was a faithful member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church as well as the Little Rock Lions Club and Lakeside Country Club. Tammy has spent 30 years helping and caring for others as a Registered Nurse working at UAMS Spine Center in Little Rock; She built a career doing what she loved and truly embraced God’s calling to help others. Tammy also loved being outdoors, especially out camping or fishing at Lake Ouachita or at home gardening. She also loved cooking and hosting all of the family gatherings for any holiday or occasion. Above all, Tammy loved her Lord and she loved her family. Her and her husband Michael met as young kids in high school as Michael was her bus driver and through a short 47 years, they built a life and a family together filled with faith, hope, and love. Being a loving wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother was the most important things to her on this side of glory. Her lasting legacy lives on in those whose lives she touched, she will be dearly missed.
Tammy passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 64.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother David McFarlane and sister Karen Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Michael Drake, her son Bodie (Jessie) Drake, mother Penny Johnson, brother Kendall (Heidi) Johnson, three grandchildren Timber, Reef, and Koa Drake, best friend Ashley Benton and her son Ellis Benton, her precious pups Elvis, Archie, Max and Lucy, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday September 16, 2026, at East Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Sidney Thompson and Bro. Paul Roberts officiating. Interment service will follow at Salem Cemetery in East End. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday September 17, 2026, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Saline County Humane Society at hssaline.org
