Terry Ray Carter of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 27, 1964 at Monticello, Arkansas.  He started his career in law enforcement in 2016.  He loved serving the community and made a tremendous amount of friends along the way.  Terry was always the first to lend a hand or offer a hug if he knew you were in need of one.

He had a love for Chevy Camaros, collecting Hot Wheels Camaros, piddling in his shop, and spending time with his beloved wife, Sheila.

Terry died Friday, June 13, 2025, at UAMS in Little Rock, at the age of 61.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Lamar Carter, and mother-in-law, Orlene Barner.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Sheila Smith Carter; sons, Chase (Shelby) Carter of Sheridan, Christopher (Autumn) Phillips St. Joe, Missouri, Dakota (Cheyenne) Phillips of Grapevine, Arkansas; grandchildren, Aubree, Conner, Eli, and Finley Carter, Callie Phillips, and Savannah Phillips; special aunt, Brenda Carter Hood of Woodson, Arkansas.  He is also survived by a host of family, friends, and brothers and sisters in blue.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 P.M., Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 P.M. with Michael Walton officiating.
